2010 Law Day Poster Contest

GRADES: York County Students in grades 7 and 8
THEMES:
“Traditions & Legal Challenges for Youth in the 21st Century” or Illustrate the song: “If I Had A Hammer” by Pete Seeger and Lee Hays
BASIS FOR JUDGING:
Posters submitted will be selected on the basis of the following:
- Age appropriate artistic excellence
- Effectiveness in expressing the theme
- Originality in approach to characterizing the theme
- Creativity
DUE DATE:
POSTERS MUST BE RECEIVED BY 4:00 PM on MARCH 26, 2010. Posters may be dropped off at the following location between the hours of 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

BACK OF POSTER:
The back of the poster MUST INCLUDE the STUDENT’S NAME, GRADE, SCHOOL, SPONSORING TEACHER’S NAME. We will need the SSN for winning entries for Savings Bond prizes.
PRIZES: One 1st Prize - $ 150 U.S. Savings Bond
One 2nd Prize - $ 100 U.S. Savings Bond
One 3rd Prize - $ 50 U.S. Savings Bond
Winning posters and other representative entries will be displayed at the Law Day Luncheon on Monday, March 3, 2010. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners, along with their parents and sponsoring teachers will be invited to attend the York County Bar Foundation’s Law Day Luncheon at the Valencia Ballroom, where they will receive their prizes and recognition for their winning posters.
