Biography Anthony D. Stabile
- Born 5/10/27 in New Alexandria, PA.
- Moved to York, PA in 1972 after he retired.
- Was married to Mardella M. Stabile, deceased, for 59 years. Had three children, Anthony, Jr., deceased, Antoinette and Paul. He also had two grandchildren- Tommy 12 and Ryan 10.
- Served in the United States Marine Corps from 1945 to 1971. Retired as a Captain.
- Duty stations were all over the world- China, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Okinawa, and the United States.
- 1954- Present: Collects toys for the “Toys for Tots” program.
- 1956: Selected Marine of the Year- George R. Newitt Detachment, Kingston, PA.
- 1961: Marine Recruiter of the Year- Sunbury, Pa.
- 1987-1990: Commandant 1st Capitol Detachment Marine Corps League, York, PA.
- 1986: Served as Jr. Vice Commandant Department of Pennsylvania Marine Corps League.
- 1990: Marine of the Year- 1st Capitol Detachment Marine Corps League, York, PA.
- 1991-1995: Chairman of York County WWII programs.
- 1996-1997: Commander Joint Veterans Council.
- 1997: Marine of the Year- Department of Pennsylvania.
- 1997: York County Veterans of the Year.
- 1998-2001: Co-Chairman of the WWII Monument Committee.
- 1998-2000: Served on the Korean War Association Committee Fund Raiser.
- Instrumental in forming the Korean War Chapter 178, York.
- 1998-2006: Served as Program Coordinator on the Joint Veterans Council.
- 2000-2008: Commander of Veterans Foreign Wars Post 7374.
- 2006-2010: Currently serving on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Committee, Chairman Fund Raiser.
- On the Chapel Four Chaplains Committee.
