Law Day Liberty Bell Award

 

 

The Liberty Bell Award honors a lay person in our community who, through volunteer efforts, has encouraged community members to respect the laws and legal system, to learn more about and take an active role in our American justice system, and to take pride in our nation’s system of freedom for all under the law.  The Liberty Bell honoree is chosen by the Liberty Bell Selection Committee comprised of past award winners.

Specific Criteria for Liberty Bell Award Nominees:

  • Promoting a better understanding of our Constitution and the Bill of Rights;
  • Encouraging greater respect for the law and courts;
  • Stimulating a deeper sense of individuals' responsibilities so that citizens recognize their duties, as well as their rights;
  • Contributing to the effective functioning of our institutions of government; and
  • Fostering a better understanding and appreciation of the role of law in our society
If you are interested in submitting a nominee, please do so! All nominations should be typed (if possible) and submitted to Liberty Bell Award c/o York County Bar Association, 137 East Market Street, York, PA 17401.
