2nd ANNUAL PHOTO CONTEST
YORK COUNTY LAW DAY 2010
SPONSOR: York County Bar Foundation
GRADES: 9 through 12 -- students attending a York County school or who are home schooled in York County
THEMES: “Traditions & Legal Challenges for Youth in the 21st Century” or
Illustrate the song: “If I Had A Hammer” by Pete Seeger and Lee Hays
RULES:
- Photo must be taken and edited solely by the student.
- Digital or film images are permitted.
- The image must be submitted as an 8 x 10 print.
- Either color or black and white prints are permitted.
- Digital enhancement and/or editing are permitted.
- Photos will not be returned.
- The back of the photo must include your NAME, GRADE, SCHOOL, SPONSORING TEACHER and PHONE NUMBER (if home schooled). We will need the winners’ social security numbers for savings bond prizes.
ABOUT JUDGING:
1. Judging will be done by the Law Day Committee. The Committee reserves the right not to select a winner or winners if, in its sole discretion, the entries do not meet selection criteria:
§ Age appropriate artistic excellence/merit
§ Effectiveness in expressing the theme
§ Originality in approach to characterizing the theme
§ Creativity
§ Technical quality of the image
2. The decision of the judges is final.
DUE DATE:
The image must be received at the York County Bar Center, 137 East Market St, York, PA 17401 no later than 4:00 pm on March 26, 2010.
PRIZES: First Place - $200 U.S. Savings Bond
Second Place - $150 U.S. Savings Bond
Third Place - $100 U.S. Savings Bond
The winning photos will be displayed at the Law Day Luncheon on Monday, May 3, 2010, at The Yorktowne Hotel. Winners, along with the parents and sponsoring teachers, will be invited to attend the York County Bar Foundation’s Law Day Lunch where they will receive their prizes and recognition.
Legal Stuff: By submitting your image, you are allowing us to display the image at the luncheon, submit it to the newspapers, and display it at the Bar Center.
